07/05/2024 | NORTHWEST 200 | IRELAND | NON | NON | RACE 2 A bit broken, the objective was to finish the race to get my last needed race signature for the Isle Of Man. The bike had some technical issues during the race and I had no power, I was last at the speed trap in the straight... At least I have finished and could come back home safe. I enjoyed my first experience on this world known course but was a bit disappointed with my fall and really frustrated about my bike which is no more competitive (15 years old).
06/05/2024 | NORTHWEST 200 | IRELAND | NON | NON | QUALIFICATIONS Discovering this pure road racing course with a 3 miles straight on a stock bike is something I won't do again in the future competing against International top names such as Dunlop, Hickman, Mc Guinness and others ... Out of 60 riders, I qualified 40th on the grid, they took only 45 riders so 15 haven't taken part of the race. Feeling was good but the bike lacked much power compared to others. RACE 1 DNF I took a really good start in Group 2 and was 5 out of the first corner then was overtaken by 10 riders in the straights on 1st lap, really frustrating ! I tried to come back on the brakes but I fell at Juniper chicane, it was a bit optimistic. We had to fix the bike the day after for the Saturday race where I will still be sore with hips, shoulder and ribs ...
13/04/2024 | CROIX EN TERNOIS | FRANCE | 3ème | NON | NON | QUALIFICATIONS It took me 2 qualifications to find the right suspension settings. Coming from the road race with a soft setting it has to be harder on the track. I will start in P8 for the Sunday races. RACE 1 - SHOULD HAVE BEEN A PODIUM CELEBRATION Getting a good start, I'm hardly battling during 18 laps to finish the race in 3rd position. P3 means much to me with my 1st podium in an International Championship. Unfortunately the French Federation disqualified me and the winner for noise purposes (never saw this before). During technical control on Friday, max noise control in static was 102DB, I was 99.9DB so all was good for the race. The French federation is trying this year a new system of dynamic noise controller in the straight when you are full gaz and high in RPM. Max is 109DB, I was apparently at 115DB ... I am really saddened and angry about their decision because I was proud to represent all my sponsors on the podium !! RACE 2 Getting another good start, at half race I am 3rd unfortunately I lost the grip from the front tire while on the brakes. I directly jumped back on my bike to finish the race last, but at least finished. Now I am waiting for feedback from the UK organisation to know if they can consider 1 signature out of the 2 needed for my Mountain License (Isle Of Man) before June 30th. Conclusion : A tricky weekend, the podium was well deserved but I need to move forward and I know I had the rhythm to play in the top 3 which is really positive for the coming season. Next stop --> Northwest 200 May 6th to 11th Objective --> To enjoy and finish both races |
